What is it and why should I do it?
Graphic Design is the art and practice of communicating visually. In this subject you will explore branding design, typography, historic design styles and illustration. You will engage in a design process to produce creative solutions that respond to design briefs.
What will I do in class?
The subject involves a lot of independent work on practical tasks.
You will:
- Employ and document a design process based on the Double Diamond model
- Learn how to manipulate type and imagery when designing for specific contexts, purposes and audiences
- Combine Use a range of manual and digital methods, media (with a focus on Adobe Illustrator) and materials with

- Document your design process in a visual diary
- Learn how to manipulate type and imagery in critiques, both delivering and receiving constructive feedback
- Analyse factors that impact design decisions, including economic, technological, environmental, cultural and social influences
