What is it and why should I do it?

Graphic Design is the art and practice of communicating visually. In this subject you will explore branding design, typography, historic design styles and illustration. You will engage in a design process to produce creative solutions that respond to design briefs.

What will I do in class?

The subject involves a lot of independent work on practical tasks.

You will:

  • Use a range of manual and digital methods, media (with a focus on Adobe Illustrator)
  • Apply the design elements and principles
  • Document your design process in a visual diary
  • Learn how to manipulate type and imagery
  • Analyse factors that impact design decisions
