Arni Arapakis‘The Sprout, The Eyedrop, and The Hybrid’ Inkjet prints This trio of photographs plays on the idea of a subjective world with the way different forms of life, such as plants, insects, and other animals, or even the elements that sustain life, such as water, can intertwine with humans. In my presentation, the images which are paired together are placed in the same actual document and then are aligned. This was done to emphasise some form of commonality between the subjects in the photographs. Despite the compositional differences in features between the two images in each diptych photograph, they are joined in their complementary form to establish a relationship. The described ‘relationship’ was intended to demonstrate how people are connected with various types of existence, and even the environmental components that support life. |
