The Show Must Go On
Students will work towards evening performances of a selected play. Throughout the semester students will devise, rehearse, design, build, promote make and collaborate their interpretation of a playscript. Students will be asked to choose from production roles such as acting, lighting, sound, promotion, stage management, costume, hair and make up and set design.
Behind the Scenes.
This subject will focus on what goes on behind the scenes in theatre. Including a tour of a Melbourne theatre students will explore their chosen interests from a selection of production roles. This list includes, lighting, set design, sound design, make up, direction, promotion and costume. Throughout the semester students will adapt/ create scene work to suit several short scenes or monologues. This could range from designing and making a costume for a particular character to composing music for a scene to building a diorama of a set. The choice is yours.
Devising Theatre: Creating and collaborating to make new ensemble performances.
You will brainstorm, play, plan, improvise, write, rehearse and work towards evening performances for friends, family and community of original group and solo work.
Passionate Theatre Makers Producing Theatre
Are you passionate and curious about producing Theatre? In this semester you will work as an actor, a director and/or a designer in production roles including lighting, sound set, costume, hair and makeup, and event promotion to interpret a script for evening performances.
Theatre in A Box
This is Theatre-making using minimal props, gimmicks and absolutely no pyrotechnics. Using the actor’s body and found and recycled objects you will create original theatre for an evening performance.
