What is it and why should I do it?

Units 3 and 4 are tailored towards the operational aspects of a business. Unit 3 looks at managing people - how to motivate, lead and inspire people who work for you. We look at the management styles and skills required to successfully manage a team of people, and how to foresee and manage potential conflicts of interest that may arise. We look at the operational aspects of organisations, and visit a factory to observe the logistical aspects of large scale production.

Unit 4 focuses on the process of making change in a business and the obstacles that exist when attempting to do so. We look at businesses who are successfully (and unsuccessfully) implementing changes, and how they have approached this process. We focus on the importance of leadership and ethical business practice.

How much homework/study will I have?

All Unit 3 and 4 subjects require 3-5 hours of study per week.

Homework for business usually consists of structured responses that mimic final exam and SAC questions.

What contributes to my study score?

There are three outcomes for Unit 3 and two outcomes for Unit 4 with each outcome having at least one SAC. There is also a final exam. SAC's are worth 50% of your final grade, with the final exam making up the other 50%.

How do I satisfactorily complete the unit?

To pass any VCE unit you need to demonstrate that you have met the outcomes.

The easiest way to do this is to pass all SACs. Students can demonstrate they have met outcomes by also completing coursework.
