Year 10 Numeracy Unit 1

What is it and why should I do it?

Year 10 Numeracy Pathways focuses on developing practical mathematical skills for everyday life through an applied learning approach. The course is centred on two key areas:

• Personal Numeracy – Develops skills needed for everyday organisation and decision-making, including managing time, planning travel, budgeting, scheduling activities, and participating effectively in daily events and responsibilities.
• Financial Numeracy – Builds understanding of financial concepts and processes, including shopping, income and wages, savings, budgeting, money management, and interpreting common financial documents and transactions.

How much homework/study will I have?

None. All work done in class. 

How do I satisfactorily complete the unit?

Assessment is based on a range of evidence, including projects, portfolios, and investigations. Students will have multiple opportunities throughout the course to demonstrate their understanding, apply their skills, and showcase their learning.
