| Sadie Niall
Throughout the year the focus of my folio and artwork has been exploring the relationships between humans and nature. I focused on the human and more specifically the female body and its position in the natural environment, exploring native Australian plants and environments. I explored the contrasts between the idea of things that are structural and man-made and their contrast from the organic replenishing cycle of nature and how I could combine these elements on a single artwork. Throughout my exploration process I moved from focusing on indigenous Australian land and environments towards the female body and its place in nature, however the idea of a corset also communicates ideas of something British and its oppressive nature reflects on the imposition the English Had on pre-colonial indigenous Australian land. |
