It is with great sadness that we share the news of the sudden passing of Khaver Charles 'Sluggo' Slucki.
Sluggo - a member of the Bund committee, a former SKIFist and former helfer - has made a deep impact on our community. Many of us will remember his stories of SKIF camps of long ago, including playing grandes, and political activities of the day.
Sluggo also made an impact on New York Hemshek...histn when he travelled there in his 20s. He shared his SKIF experiences in Melbourne with them and also brought back some Hemshekh traditions that still appear on our SKIF camps today.
Our khaver believed deeply that one must practice what they preach. His work with Cambodian communities in need is a testament to this.
Ever the director, Sluggo gave back to our community creatively on many occasions. Countless SKIFistn are richer for having learned from his craft.
He was a community man in the truest sense of the word. If a member of the community had achieved something special he would celebrate the achievement loudly and proudly. He was a truly khaverish person, sharing his knowledge and support with all khaveyrim - young and old.
We send our deepest condolences to Mich, Jacob, David and Miriam, along with Sluggo's extended family and friends. Zolt ir mer nisht visn fun keyn tsar.
We share the pain of this loss with all of his khaveyrim. Chavershaft Sluggo!
