What is it and why should I do it?

Year 10 Numeracy focuses on developing practical mathematical skills for everyday life through an applied learning approach. The course is centred on two key areas:

• Health and Recreational Numeracy: Covers understanding health-related information, recreational activities, timekeeping in sports, cooking, and creation/measurement aspects in hobbies.
• Civic Numeracy: Focuses on community participation through understanding government and societal data, simple statistics.

How much homework/study will I have?

None. All work done in class. 

How do I satisfactorily complete the unit?

Assessment is based on a range of evidence, including projects, portfolios, and investigations. Students will have multiple opportunities throughout the course to demonstrate their understanding, apply their skills, and showcase their learning.
