• What makes a hero?
• What constitutes goodness, and how is it perceived in different contexts?
• Is it better to suffer wrong than do wrong?
• In what ways does our society shape the concept of goodness and ethical decision-making?
• Are we completely driven by shame and pride?
• How does socio-political context affect gender roles and power systems?

What will I do in class?

Throughout this subject students will use artefacts, images, texts and videos to investigate attitudes towards morality, heroes and knowledge in ancient societies. Students will engage in class discussions and projects to assess the extent to which  they believe that these belief systems are still relevant today.
