What is it and why should I do it?

This is a brand new elective for Drama: In term three students will read, research, rehearse and perform a script for a community performance outside class. This may be an edited Shakespeare play or a range of scripts by contemporary and classical playwrights. Students will pitch for the script they prefer and the class will then decide. Then the race is on to get the script to performance in 9 or so weeks! In term 4, students will explore Improvisation through Theatre Sports and perform in a tournament where they play off against the Comedy class for the title of PHSC Champions of Improv in front of friends and family. The Tournament will be judged by phsc theatre celebrities, including crrent yr 12 Theatre Students, past students, parents and teachers. Students can choose to work in acting and backstage roles including the prestigous Theatre Sports Band.  In both projects students can elect to work in lighting, sound, props and costume.
