What is it and why should I do it?

Year 9 French is all about continuing on your great journey to becoming a proficient French speaker! Along the way you will also further explore French culture, lifestyle, traditions and learn more about the Francophone world.

What will I do in class?

Through a variety of text types you will explore the following:

Term 1:

Unité 1
• French shops & food items
• Revision of partitive articles
• Revision of regular verbs
• Semi-irregular verbs
• Expressions of quantity
• Pas/plus de grammar
• Shopping in France role plays

Unité 2
• European countries & capital cities
• Countries and prepositions used
• Modes of transport and prepositions
• Revise futur proche et passé recent
• Faire de + activity
• Modal verbs (pouvoir/vouloir/devoir)
• On pronoun
• Speaking task

Term 2:

How will I be assessed?

Classroom participation, completion of classroom activities and satisfactory completion of unit assessment tasks (listening, speaking, reading and writing skills)
