Circular Fashion is where all people involved from the manufacturer to the consumer take responsibility for keeping clothing in a wearable state for as long as possible. Circular Fashion is defined as clothes, shoes or accessories that are designed, sourced, produced with a goal of continued sustainability. Circular Fashion's goal is to eliminate waste and re-purpose products and fibres into new fashion pieces.
Students will explore different techniques for repairing clothing and textile products to extend the life of the product. As well as exploring the up-cycling of a textile product that is no longer useful in its present form.
There will be two written investigation tasks:
Task 1: What defines Circular Fashion and how it compares to the traditional linear fashion industry.
Task 2: Investigation a design label that represents the Circular Fashion business model.
