• Modern China – From Pu Yi to Mao to Xi JinPing

Track the rise of a superpower from revolution to global domination. Covers the collapse of Imperial China, the rise of communism and the development of the global powerhouse that is modern China under the control of Xi Jinping. 

• Migration Stories – Movement of People

What could make you pack up your life tomorrow and move to a new place? It seems like an impossible choice, but over half of all Australians have a parent born in another country. So what made them leave and how did they move? Covers the geographical movements of people and groups across spaces and time.

• Australian and Global Rights and Freedoms

What are human rights? Across the world, millions of people have stood up and fought back for their rights. Does that make them terrorists? Or freedom fighters? Covers the struggle for rights and freedoms in South Africa, Myanmar, USA, Ireland and Australia.

• Dollars and Sense 

Through a variety of hands-on projects, exercises and excursions students will explore the answers to personal finance questions such as:

• How will I get paid if I get a job?
• What could I do with my money?
• How can I get the best mobile phone deal?
• What if I want to buy a car?
• What is the share market and how do you invest in it?
• What is a budget and do I need one?
