What is it and why should I do it?
Follow the rise of a modern superpower from revolution to becoming a key global force. Covers the collapse of Imperial China and the rise of Communist China under Mao Zedong. Follows China's colossal economic development from the 1980s to the modern state under the control of Xi Jinping. Culminates in the exploration of key issues around China's growing power and influence in the world today. This subject is recommended for those students interested in studying VCE Modern History, Politics and Revolutions.
What will I do in class?
Throughout this subject students will use lectures, documentary studies, inquiry based student investigations and class discussions to get a clear understanding of China's modern development.
