What is it and why should I do it?

This course is an introduction to the science of the human mind and what drives us, from the everyday human experience to the extremes of the criminal mind. We will also focus on the techniques used to track down the criminals among us.


Part 1. SO  Psyched -  Why do we behave the way we do?  Understanding the psychology of human interaction a study of the brain and human experience such as emotion, attraction, motivation and addiction as well as the importance of sleep.   

Part 2. Cracking Cases-  Forensic Psychology and Crime Scene Investigation  - What drives the darker side of human nature?  This part of the course will cover the science behind criminals; why people commit crimes and how police are able to use technology to catch them.    

What will I do in class?

Hands on activities, class discussions, experimental research, case study analysis, data collection and analysis, media analysis, class presentations.

How do I satisfactorily complete the unit?

 Participation in class experiments and activities, completion of tests, an experimental research report, a criminal case study analysis, Crime Scene Investigation Project
