What is it and why should I do it?
Compulsory VCE VM subject. You need it to complete the VM course. This is vocational English and you need it for life and the workplace. In 2023 and 2024 this subject is only for VM students.
What will I do in class?
Study a range of texts like letters, films, articles, podcasts etc. Discuss and debate current social issues. Listen to a range of opinions. Create texts like journals, photo essays, reports, oral presentations etc. There are also 2 periods of Art included in this subject where you will create your own artwork and learn about visual literacy.
How much homework will I have?
None. All work done in class.
How do I satisfactorily complete the unit?
There are 2 outcomes per unit. Each one will have an assessment task like structured questions or a report or presentation. These need to be completed on time and to a satisfactory standard in order to pass. The VCE attendance policy also needs to be adhered to.
