What is it and why should I do it?
Year 9 French is all about continuing on your great journey to becoming a proficient French speaker! Along the way you will also further explore French culture, lifestyle, traditions and learn more about the Francophone world.
What will I do in class?
Through a variety of text types you will explore the following topics:
- Shopping in France (clothing, shops and food items)
- European countries & capital cities
- Modes of transport and making travel plans
- Daily routines (expressions of time, doing household chores, activities)
- School life in France and other Francophone countries versus Australian school life
- Describing yourself and others
- Expressing opinions
- Ordering food and drinks at a café
- Discussing holidays in the past
- Body parts and visiting the doctor
- Organising a night out with friends
- Sports
How will I be assessed?
Classroom participation, completion of classroom activities and satisfactory completion of unit assessment tasks (listening, speaking, reading and writing skills)

- Tricolore 2 Textbook (5th edition) and Tricolore 2 Grammar in action 2 (5th edition) ( Oxford University Press purchased through Campion booksellers (PHSC booklisting) prior to the beginning of the school year.
- A renewed subscription to the online educational platform Education Perfect, purchased through Campion booksellers (PHSC booklisting) prior to the beginning of the school year.
