What is it and why should I do it?
Students will explore a range of techniques to approach and perform scenes, duologues and sonnets from Shakespeare’s plays. They will research and apply stagecraft such as lighting, projection, sound and costume, and rehearse and perform to a range of audiences.
In this elective students will explore all aspects of creating a Drama Production. You will be involved in selecting the script by reading and researching and then creating a pitch for your choice to the class. This may be an edited Shakespeare play or a range of scripts by contemporary and classical playwrights. You will rehearse and design, direct and perform for an audience of family and friends. Students will work in acting and / or set, costume, props, lighting and sound design roles, explore directing a scene or try your hand at stage managing or promotion. Then the race is on to get the script to performance.
