What is it and why should I do it?

In this subject students will learn about:

  • the

  • construction of media products including film, animation and website designhow genre is created through the use of sound, colour, acting and editing
  • technical and creative aspects of photography, including how to use digital cameras and other photographic equipment

  • how composition, lighting, colour and focus can be used to create meaning in images

  • how editing software can be

  • use to create and manipulate short films such as trailersa range of software and technical equipment that can be used to construct media artworks such as animation
  • used to enhance, manipulate, and refine photographic works

  • different photographic styles and techniques used by contemporary and historical photographers

Students will be required to:

  • research

  • stage of the production process to create media products
  • produce edited sequences that demonstrate an understanding of genre and filmmaking techniques
  • create a series of animations including stop motion
  • plan and create websites that demonstrate an understanding of layouts, style and audiences
  • and analyse the work of photographers to inform their own ideas

  • plan and produce a series of photographs based on set themes and concepts

  • edit and present photographic works using industry-standard software

  • document their creative process and reflect on their technical and artistic development
