For my folio I wanted to capture the interaction between the skaters and the environment, exploring the individual skater amongst the empty environment and the combination of skater and others watching on admiring or specifically interacting with the skater, and also the performance nature of skateboarding capturing the dance style movements created by the skater

‘The Sprout, The Eyedrop, and The Hybrid’

This trio of photographs plays on the idea of a subjective world with the way different forms of life, such as plants, insects, and other animals, or even the elements that sustain life, such as water, can intertwine with humans. In my presentation, the images which are paired together are placed in the same actual document and then are aligned. This was done to emphasise some form of commonality between the subjects in the photographs. Despite the compositional differences in features between the two images in each diptych photograph, they are joined in their complementary form to establish a relationship. The described ‘relationship’ was intended to demonstrate how people are connected with various types of existence, and even the environmental components that support life.
