| Name: Lucy Harrington Title of work: TangibleLucky Medium: Video PoemThe intention of this visual poem was to explore the ‘tangible’ feelings of being a young woman in lockdown. The main themes touched on introspection, self-growth, creativity and enlightenment. By orchestrating the rich-coloured narration, I hoped to engage the young adults that feel restricted in discovering themselves through social experiences, travels and the beginning of ‘adult’ lifeA film in the style of a music video - the musical score is an original, written, recorded and mixed by me with some peer instrumental accompaniment - following conventions of music video production which typically emphasise the artist/character, emotions and location. The sentiments of the song and related story involve coming-of-age themes including the navigation of personal fortune, destiny and location of individual hope and agency amidst limiting superstitions and dogmas. |
