| Ella KinradeMotion Confinement Video I originally wanted to create an artwork that reflected my connection and love for movement, however, I had to rethink it with lockdown and not being able to access a dance studio or something similar. Dancing is something that has kept me going through years of hardship, motivates me and positively impacts all aspects of my health. I realised during lockdown that not only was my dancing restricted, but so was any sort of movement. Stuck at home, not having the things that keep me moving. So, I decided to create a video that depicted how I’ve been feeling the past few months. I composed a song for the video to go to and filmed around my house, with the limit of movement and space. Altogether, I wanted it to represent the waves of emotions and the effect that not being able to have as much freedom as we used to has had on my mental health. Not having social connection, space to create, simple things such as walking outside and smelling the fresh air, that we took for granted Lukas FrostellTitle of work: UntitledMedium: AnimationThe animation intends to use media conventions like climbing mountains to symbolize the path of success and it’s repetitive nature. The scenery will consist of newspaper and clay symbolizing the contrast between the rough terrain and the fragile person. The film uses a typical hero's journey narrative to embody the struggle of achieving life goals and the mental struggle behind them (the ups and downs), eventually resulting in a conclusion. I want the audience to experience the hardships with the protagonist as well as the triumph at the end . |
