Students going into Year 10 at PHSC may apply to complete a Unit 1&2 VCE subject as part of their program. Students aiming to complete an early access VCE subject need to demonstrate maturity in their study habits and the ability to balance the demands of a VCE subject within their broader Year 10 program. A VCE Subject will take up two subject spots in your program, one unit in each semester.
Selection Criteria:
In determining whether it is suitable for a student to complete an early access VCE subject, the school will consider:
- Assessment data
- Learning behaviour reports
- School attendance data
- Google form responses
- Attendance in Year 9 over 90%+
- Positive ratings for Effort, Engagement and Behaviour in all subjects
- Strong results in the subject area of the Advanced Study
- Recommendation from the Year 9 teacher in the relevant subject area
