What is it and why should I do it?

In this subject students will learn about:

• the construction of media products including film, animation and website design
• how genre is created through the use of sound, colour, acting and editing
• how editing software can be use to create and manipulate short films such as trailers
• a range of software and technical equipment that can be used to construct media artworks such as animation

Students will be required to:

• research stage of the production process to create media products
• produce edited sequences that demonstrate an understanding of genre and filmmaking techniques
• create a series of animations including stop motion
• plan and create websites that demonstrate an understanding of layouts, style and audiences
