What is it and why should I do it?
Fashion is about designing and making clothes and textile accessories. It is an opportunity to be creative and self-sufficient in the way you present yourself to the world.
Learn the skills necessary to create clothing that you feel reflects who you are as a young person in today's world.
What will I do in class?
You will design, make and evaluate fashion garments and/or textile products in the area of their own interest. Documentation of this process will include fashion sketching, digital image and text documentation.
Students will also complete an investigation of an Australian Indigenous Designer reflecting on the connection between traditional symbols, colours, techniques and contemporary fashion/textiles design.
Assessment will be based on this investigation task, documentation of the design process, completion of your production/s and their evaluation.
Students may need to supply their own fabric and any specialised trims needed to complete their design productions. This will vary according to the student’s interests and needs.
