| Kalliope Rice My theme for my Studio Arts final work is the movement of humans and machinery in society and capturing movement in a 2D medium. I have focussed on the motion of transport specifically in the form of trains and planes interacting with the environment and humans. Through the interaction of both paintings I have also explored how motion manifests in our society over time. I used water-soluble oil paints on a self-made canvas. Due to the accessible materials, lockdown had a limited effect on the production of my work as I could paint just as easily at home. Overall, I feel my artworks, both individually and as a diptych, effectively represent my themes. |
