What is it and why should I do it?
VCE Italian is the study of the Italian language and culture whilst developing the skills of listening, speaking, reading, writing and viewing. It is recommended for students who enjoy language learning.
VCE Italian requires communication in Italian in a variety of situations and for multiple purposes. These purposes include discussion, exchanging information, writing in different text types and interpreting from one language to another. Lessons are instructed in the target language.
Students will study the three prescribed themes:
The Individual (Education, aspirations and future employment)
The Italian speaking communities (Living in Italy: I giovani precari italiani, the Italian speaking community: migrants in Australia and in Italy)
The world around us (The influence of science and technology: the internet and social media; the environment)
