What is it and why should I do it?

Literacy Skills will help you with the type of English work that you need to complete a course you might be interested in or join the workforce. The course covers things like building a CV, writing a resume, writing emails to people to ask them for information that you need, and reading newspaper articles so that you know what's going on in the world. You don't have to be a literary scholar but you will have to fill in forms, read instructions and write emails. There's no getting around the need for communication in this world!

What will I do in class?

This is a practical subject – you will write letters and resumes, create posters for events and generally communicate! The teacher will work with you at whatever level you're at. If you need more intensive assistance we can help you to get it. Any work that for projects that require communication of any sort will contribute to this subject.

How much homework will I have?

None. All your work happens in class.

How do I satisfactorily complete the unit?

Keep your attendance above 80% and keep up to date with the tasks that are assigned. Ask for help when you need it!

You need to pass this strand to pass VCAL at any level.
