What is it and why should I do it?

You have to do it to pass VCAL at any level. It's an English class and it's important that everyone can read and write enough to be in the world. You don't have to be a literary scholar but you will have to fill in forms, read instructions etc. There's no getting around the need for communication in this world.

What will I do in class?

You will do the type of English work that helps you to go on to a course that you're interested in or to join the workforce. Things like building a CV, writing a resume, writing emails to people to ask them for information that you need, reading newspaper articles so that you know what's going on in the world, maybe reading some stories, oral presentations etc. It's all really practical and the teacher will work with you at whatever level you're at. If you need more intensive assistance we can help you to get it. Any work that for projects that require communication of any sort will contribute to this subject.

How much homework will I have?

None. All your work happens in class.

How do I satisfactorily complete the unit?

Keep your attendance above 80% and keep up to date with the tasks that are assigned. Ask for help when you need it!
